20 Weeks Today!!

I am 20 weeks today. Yeah!! I am so happy to be at this point and have nothing go wrong. I did have a trip to the hospital yesterday, but since everything is fine than I am very happy. I had my doctor's appointment today and nothing remarkable happened. We heard our little boys heartbeat. It is amazing to hear it every time. I so hope that things continue as well as they have been.

Trip to the hospital

Well, I finally called the doctor after feeling my cervix area a lot of the past day. They told me to get checked out in L&D. Boy my heart sank and I started to cry. I so did not want to go there. To make matters worse it was snowing. We got there and we were put in the same exam room as I was put in when I was examined and found out during my 1st pregnancy that the baby's legs were already in the vagina. They examined me and my cervix was closed tightly. They monitored me for contractions, which I was not having. Yeah!! We also got to see our little boy on ultrasound. It was so cute it was like he was running in there. It is so amazing to see his growth. They did see some slight inflammation on my cervix, so I have to take Flagyl everyday. If that is all that is wrong I will take it. So after this trip, I was so happy because I got to leave the hospital and I was still pregnant.

Big Ultrasound!!

Today is the day that I could not wait for any longer, my big ultrasound. I was so excited to see that everything was alright and nervous to see if my cervix was behaving. Well, they were running behind and I had to wait an hour and a half. It seemed like eternity. I was just thankful I did not have to drink a lot of water beforehand because there would be no way I would have been able to hold it. We finally get into the room and she starts the ultrasound. Of course our little one was in a difficult position to see anything. The baby's head was small. Our other two angels heads were measing on the small end. This is due to my husband, as he has a small head. You then get to the abdomen and that is on the large size. Again I have to point to the baby's mommy and daddy, as neither my husband nor myself are small. We got to see the baby's little hands and fingers, legs and toes, arms. Then we saw what made my husband that happiest man on the planet, the third leg (i.e. the penis). He was so sure that he was going to have a girl, but I knew that it was a boy. There was no doubt it was a boy, the tech even said she was 100% sure. Sure, I wanted a girl, but believe me after losing two babies I will take a boy or a girl. His heartrate was 157. Well, she was having trouble seeing all the chambers of the heart and the stomach due to the position of the baby. She stopped the ultrasound and went to imput the measurements into the computer, but came back and said she needed to get one more measurement. Well, the baby decided to get in a good position, but as soon as she tried to look at anything he turned his back to her. Little stinker he just knows when someone is trying to look at him. The baby is measuring perfect, so I am extremely happy. Yeah!!
